Agronomy SMS Service and Interim Newsletters
The SMS service (Australia only) covers topics such as what to do with imminent rain coming, current pests, or shortage of chemicals and other options etc... An average of two messages per week during the growing season.
When something is happening in the paddock that needs urgent attention before the next newsletter is published, Interim email and faxed Newsletters are sent to subscribers who would like to also receive these.
Cost is $120/year ($132 including GST), there are usually 3-5 interim newsletters sent out per year plus the SMS service.
To Subscribe to the SMS / Interim service, please click here to go to our Subscription Form - where you are able to subscribe and pay for the service and other newsletter subscription items.
SMS's sent already have included;
- I'm feeling more confident in more N inputs with excellent H20 and regularly cold fronts with cloudbands. Might be a good season.
- Cereals pale on top, greener below, top bit erect is Sulphur (S) def. not N. Add AMS or gypsum plus UREA, not just Urea.
- Night spraying fine 4 most brews as long as no severe frost in the morning. Wet leaves fine, just not beady. Velocity herbicide works better in sunlight.
- Ryegrass emerging in wheat & barley & resistant to SU's, Fops & DIM's? Salvage only unregistered option for 1-2 leaf rye is 2.5-3L/ha BoxerGold. Rain must follow within days. No adjuvants required. Costs>$30/ha but works. Registered in UK at 5L/ha up to tillering wheat
- Hasten not best with Decision herbicide. Supercharge best I've seen. Enhance one of most damaging. Zinc + 1% ANM needed with Decision and Achieve.
- Zinc is OK with FOP and DIM herbicides. 300ml/ha Twinzinc or Activist Zinc ideal. Especially needed with Decision and Achieve.
- Can use Urea instead of UAN to help waterlogged crops cope. 20kg UREA in 50L water OK. More can be dissolved in warmer water. Is OK with most sprays.
- On Cereals Zinc defic is dead lesions in middle of the leaves. Leaves above & below will be greener. Spray zinc ASAP if you c defic.
- If a herbicide affects ur cereal, c where the effect is. It will show u if a trace elelment defic is a prob. Copr toptips. Zn middle of middle.
- Plus many more.......
